I normally love Wal-Mart but as of late I cannot stand going into a Wal-Mart because of the gaggle of gawkers and ghetto people. This is why Dan and I purchased a home near an actual grocery store so that we won't need to go into Wal-Mart anymore.
We just came back from the Korean version of Wal-Mart. It is called E-mart. I don't know what the "e" is for (I gave up asking questions only to get the run around).
Their Wal-Mart is really cool! It's about 4 stories tall. The bottom floor is the grocery section. The second floor is the department store area where they sell clothes, electronics and the usual fare you would get at Wal-Mart. The last two stories is the parking garage.
The things that make this E-Mart so much better is all the little things. The grocery carts are located in the parking garage. To get downstairs you go down the escalator BUT it's a FLAT escalator! It's like the flat airport ones but at a slope!! I've never seen one of those before!
When you enter the Parking Garage there is someone there to direct traffic so there is no fighting the soccer moms for a parking spot! When you enter the actual store there is a greeter just like Wal-Mart except the greeter actually greeted you like they appreciated that you were there.
In each department is a sales associate willing to help you with anything. They stand off to the side waiting to help but don't pounce on you like at a sales store nor do they ignore you like in Wal-Mart.
Inside looked like a mix between a Target and and a Burdines. The makeup counter was all lit up and the shoes were on fancy racks. I didn't get a good glance at the grocery part though.
While my family was paying for everything I went and bought an iced coffee from the soda machine. It was only 50 cents. Or the equivalent to 50 cents. I'll write more on that later. Now we are off to my Mom's Uncles house for dinner.
In response to my last post, I am feeling a lot better. Not as homesick anymore. My Aunt bought me a Big Mac and fries and for some strange reason that helped a lot even though I don't eat much Mcdonalds to begin with. I then watched the OK GO video on treadmills and then watched Pirates of the Carribean on tv (IN ENGLISH!!) and then took a nap. After that I was feeling much refreshed and back to normal. I think I just needed a few things that I was familiar to.
I have tons to share so stay posted!!!
