... when it is turning into a driveway.
Hahahah... NOT FUNNY.
You know what else is NOT funny? The fact that I have a stapler but no staples. I DISTINCTLY remember when we lived in the apartment that I used to tease Dan for having staples but no stapler. I looked everywhere for that thing and could never find it. He insisted we had one but was never able to produce one so I did not believe him.
Somehow in the move we managed to find the stapler (yay!) but we also lost the staples. Boo!
I bet you I won't find those staples until we move again.

6 months of home ownership
Our house couldn't even wait until Christmas was officially over. At 11:30pm I notice the cat hanging out by the front door. Even for the strange cat he is, this is not normal behavior so I keep an eye on him. He's not getting into trouble. I keep hearing noises but glances over my right shoulder doesn't confirm anything out of the ordinary.
You know that gut feeling you get? Well maybe not if you are a dude. Ladies know what I am talking about. We call that female intuition. The male intuition is when they know when they have a big fart coming. The female intuition is a bit more refined. We know when something is amiss. We can sniff out a lie before it's even improvised. We know when kids in the other room are about to break an expensive lamp or ect.. That is the female intuition. Males deny this only because they don't have it.
Well my alarm was going off in my gut so I got up to see what the cat was up to. Turns out he was monitoring the water dripping onto the carpet. Good kitty. Wait, what water?!
Instead of having a "White Christmas" Charleston, South Carolina was blessed with the second best thing, cold rain. Great. Torrential amounts of rain.
For any combination of reasons our roof decided to leak the instant Dan set foot into work on the one day of the year he can't take time off. I call up his work and I can barely make it through the ridiculous monologue from the other line:
"Good morning; afternoon; evening, sir or ma'am. This is the office of (name). This is Petty Officer (last name) speaking. I am wearing two left shoes, ate Subway for dinner, this line is not secure and I love my momma, how may I help you?"
You Navy wives out there know what I am talking about.
Since it was nearly midnight on Christmas night we decided to just wait until the morning to assess the damage. Luckily it stopped raining so I didn't need to get on the roof with a tarp. Which I would've woke my neighbors to do for me. Hahahaha.
Our dishwasher decided to go into early retirement earlier this month. Since that happened the day before going to our in-laws we waited to get that fixed and the repair man is coming Friday to look at it. If he can't fix it, he's going to replace it.
The joys of home ownership. If my garden tub breaks I will go nuts. Hahaha. No, seriously.

Update on the Remus life
We just recently set up internet services and unpacked my computer AND reassembled my desk. Moving day was fun. My humongous desk wouldn't fit through the door so the boys took the door off it's hinges. No lie. I made sure to get pictures of that. Well the desk still wouldn't fit so they had to disassemble it :/ After that, the futon didn't want to leave either so that also had to be taken apart slightly to get out the door. AND THEN the futon decided that it didn't want to go into the designated room in the new house. FUN. It's currently chilling out in the back spare room until we disassemble it further and move it again.
It seems like nothing gets done around the house but we just have so much stuff that it just seems like it's taking forever to unpack everything. It doesn't help that after work Dan and I are always on the go and seeing friends and going to the movies and ect..
Somehow on Saturday I got suckered into cleaning my friends apartment. I didn't want to but I really wanted to nap and there wasn't room for a nap so I had to clean up and I couldn't do a halfassed job of it so we went all out and CLEANED. And then she bought a DVD player and some curtains and we hung up some stuff all the while Dan was on the couch playing his PSP and playing the Wii at the same time. Heh heh.
Dan bought our first lawnmower!! How exciting!! I know I must sound really lame but I'm really cut out for the domestic life. Wait until I garden for my first time :P Dorkiness aside, I'm really happy. I don't think life could get any better for us right now. We live in an absolutely wonderfully quiet neighborhood. We're in a good location. We have our health and our love. I have the best husband in the world and he makes me incredibly happy.
I have a ton of stories and pictures to share and I'll do that once I find my mind. It's probably in a box somewhere waiting for some fresh air :P
