Dan has been addicted to a new game for the XBOX 360 called Call of Duty 4 which replaced last year's favorite, Halo 3.
This first person shooter game, unlike Halo which is more fantasy alien scenario, COD4 is based on modern warfare. The maps look very realistic.
I'm not a big fan of playing shooter based games because usually I can't figure the controls and I end up dying before figuring out how to walk. But I don't mind watching Dan play. It's pretty fun. Upon dying, you immediately "respawn" or come back to life and you get to continue in the match.
I think the real excitement is playing real people online. Sometimes when Dan's friends are online, they join in on the match and play on the same team. Even Dan's brother who lives in PA can join in on the fun. So despite the distance, the two can still be close even if it is through video games.
Dan had to use the restroom so I took the controller and I played a match or three! I was finally able to kill a few guys to the few dozens I got killed but it was still fun. The real fun was putting on the headphones and turning on the mic and letting these "men" know they just got killed by a GIRL. Hahaha.
Will I continue to play in the future? Probably not. It's more fun to just watch Dan play. If the game programmers find a way to have two players play online at the same time then I might play. I refuse to play against Dan. That is just not fair to me. But it's all good if he's on my team because then he can make up for all my deaths by killing a few extra guys for me.
