Because of writer's block

I had this great ancedote for an article I wanted to write for the school paper so I hammered it out on Word. But after reading it over, it sounds too forced and a bit rantish. I understand that writing takes a lot of editing and drafts but I was stuck. I didn't know how to proceed. I tried writing about the same topic but in a different facet. Now I just had two unrelated pieces. Instead of forcing it, I just wrote something different.

I've been working on a piece about Call of Duty in my head for awhile now and since I am currently addicted, I thought why not. It came out smoothly and turned out to be pretty fantastic, in my opinion.

While I have paused on the other piece, writer's block didn't stop me. Because of writer's block I wrote a delightful other piece that makes me happy.
