June Birthdays

June is very birthday-riffic lately. Especially for people whose names are Mark.

Mark Staples birthday was June 2nd. Today is Mark Terry's birthday and Courtney's husband's birthday who is also named Mark.

Those are the only Marks I know, at the moment.

Apryl, whose name I cannot spell correctly, has a birthday June 9th. Which is funny because for the longest time Dan thought my birthday was the 9th and not the 5th which is actually not funny in reality. Heh heh. His birthday is two weeks after mine so I thought that would make it easy for him. But now we have this running joke of the 5th? or 9th? that he actually remembers when my birthday is. Or this just gives him more time to think of it.

My birthday is Thursday. I'm not really doing anything. Angie offered to cook me dinner so I may have a pity party at her place.. hahah. I'm just not big on birthdays like I used to be. I tend to get too disappointed and depressed so I just put off feeling anything at all.

Luckily I have wonderful friends and Courtney organized a surprise party for me on Monday. I was sick and did not want to go out but she guilted me into it and I was too sick to notice it or call her out on it. It didn't help that Dan was in on it either. Heh heh. He encouraged me to go even though I could've slept the whole night.

It was really nice. I recieved a few gifts and I wasn't expecting that at all so that was really nice. Leslie made me a cake with "Happy Birthday" spelled out in colored licorice. She told me it was totally gay but she knew I would love it and it's so true. I loved it. She also gave me a handmade card made from paper and crayon. It was so heartfelt and hilarious at the same time. I love her to death. I'm really thankful for the friends I have made here in Charleston. I love all of them to pieces. Thanks ladies for the wonderful surprise!
